Accessible Cape Town

The local government and other agencies have worked hard in the last few years to make Cape Town more accessible. Particularly with the redevelopment that took place before the 2010 World Cup, all major sites have been refurbished with the needs of everyone in mind.

Starting with the completely rebuilt airport, travelling to Cape Town is relatively easy. Facilities are good at Cape Town International and we have always found getting through the airport very simple with dedicated helpers to guide you. There are accessible transfers we can put you in touch with and we have a wheelchair accessible car to hire (by separate arrangement) making it easy to travel wherever you want to go.

So, from the Table Mountain cable car to Robben Island, V&A Waterfront to Cape Point, penguins, beaches and bus tours, we hope we have some info to inspire you on your visit to South Africa. This is not an exhaustive list by any means and we want to add to it all the time so please tell us of your experiences (good & bad) so we can inform others. We'd like to be able to tell travellers about access and facilities at all sorts of places throughout South Africa - please tell us where you have been and how you found it....
